The idea

ActivityDate, one of the first online dating services to merge dating with activities, brought users together under relaxed circumstances, including gala dinners, dance, travel, sports, sightseeing, culture, and business. A natural way to get to know each other that encouraged an open and honest approach.

What we built

We developed ActivityDate from scratch using Ruby on Rails, incorporating features over several months.

  • Profile management Users register and complete profiles, with notifications ensuring profiles are authentic and fully filled out.
  • Interest-based search Advanced search based on user interests and profile information helps users find compatible partners.
  • Activity-based matching Users discover activities and connect through shared interests.
  • Global event organization ActivityDate organized gala events worldwide, with users finding dating prospects as travel companions or meeting people in their hometowns.

The result

A dating experience that felt more natural, built on meeting through shared activities rather than profile swiping. Profile management and interest-based search enhanced user interactions. The organization of global events added a unique dimension to online dating, offering members opportunities to meet in person under enjoyable circumstances.
