A Ruby on Rails platform for golf players worldwide: event listings, an annual Championship in Dubai, and player profiles.
The idea
GolfMatchPlay is a portal for creating a personal golf player network: a platform where golf enthusiasts meet and challenge each other. Throughout the year, international golf events are held in various countries, culminating in an annual Championship in Dubai. We developed this project from scratch, revitalizing a concept dating back to the 90s while maintaining its essence in a modern design.
What we built
A Ruby on Rails platform connecting golfers globally.
- Leaderboard Players see their rankings, mark games they've played, and compete with others. Each person can play a match only once a year, ensuring transparency and excitement
- PayPal integration Secure payment gateway for tournament entries and memberships
- Affiliate program Promoting user engagement through referrals

- Modern redesign Maintaining the nostalgic feel of the original project while enhancing with modern functionality
The result
An engaging golf community platform. The Leaderboard and unique match restrictions drove competition and interaction among players. PayPal and the affiliate program simplified payments and incentivized user growth. The platform successfully revitalized a 90s concept for the modern web, supporting the global golf community.
