Filmbasen: Platform for young filmmakers
A way for young filmmakers to apply for funding through Filmbasen without leaving the platform.
The idea
Filmbasen, a meeting place for young filmmakers in the Stockholm area, offered talent development, professional training, and support for movie projects. Filmbasen needed its platform integrated with Crowd Culture, so filmmakers can apply for funding directly through the Filmbasen system without leaving the site.
What we built
We integrated Crowd Culture’s funding application process into the existing Filmbasen platform:
- UI/UX integration We maintained Filmbasen's clean and intuitive design while adding the new funding application feature.
- Backend enhancement We updated the Ruby on Rails backend to support secure and efficient data exchange between Filmbasen and Crowd Culture.
- Funding application feature Application forms, submission tracking, and status updates let filmmakers apply for funding directly from Filmbasen.
- Security and compliance All data exchanges between platforms follow security standards, protecting user information.
The result
The integration gave filmmakers a way to apply for funding without leaving the Filmbasen platform, a more convenient process. The integration opened up more funding opportunities for young filmmakers, supporting their projects and professional growth. Users praised the added convenience of applying for funding through the familiar Filmbasen interface.
