Pizza Lulu: Custom pizza ordering platform
An e-commerce platform with an interactive pizza configurator: custom toppings builder, order management, and delivery integration.
The idea
Pizza Lulu operates across Riga, Jūrmala, and Limbaži with both delivery and takeaway. Their ordering process was mostly phone-based: slow for customers, error-prone for staff, and impossible to scale during peak hours.
They needed an online ordering system that could handle their full menu, support customization (customers love building their own pizzas), and feed orders directly into the kitchen workflow without adding staff.
What we built
Working with design studio Asketic Riga, we developed a custom e-commerce platform from scratch.
- Interactive pizza builder Customers drag-and-drop toppings, see the price update in real time, and preview their creation before ordering
- Full menu with smart ordering Ready-made pizzas, drinks, sides, and combo deals, all with one-click add to cart
- Order management API Orders flow directly from the website to the kitchen's internal system: no manual re-entry, no missed orders
- Multi-location delivery Automatic routing based on delivery address to the nearest restaurant, with delivery time estimates
- Responsive design Works on phones, tablets, and desktops: most orders come from mobile
The result
Online orders grew steadily, reducing phone queue pressure during peak hours. The pizza builder became a customer favorite: average order value increased as people added more toppings. Kitchen staff no longer re-type orders from phone calls, eliminating transcription errors. The platform handled Friday/Saturday peak loads without issues.
