Project Overview
Teachlive.de is a German-based marketplace that helps users find private music teachers immediately, offering both online and in-person lessons. Teachlive boasts top music teachers for various instruments, readily available to provide lessons. IT House worked in close cooperation with the Teachlive team for several months, starting with the Flex hourly template and adding extensive custom coding to meet the specific needs of the marketplace.
Execution
IT House focused on developing several custom features and updating the visual identity of the Teachlive marketplace. Key features include:
- Visual Identity & Design Update: Our design team implemented Teachlive's look and feel, creating a unique visual identity for the marketplace.
- Dashboard: We created a basic dashboard on top of the typical Flex Inbox, organizing transactions by the closest date and transaction status.
- Different Cancellation Policies: We customized Flex to allow teachers to choose their preferred cancellation policy, enabling free cancellation up to 48 hours before the lesson or no cancellation option. Both customers and providers can cancel transactions.
- Search Optimization: As most classes are online, we optimized the search functionality, removing the need for a map while retaining location search for offline classes.
- Jitsi Integration for Online Meetings: Integrated Jitsi for high-quality video and audio meetings directly on the transaction details page.
- Ability to Set Free Sessions: Teachers can set and provide a certain number of free lessons per month. We customized the checkout process to allow free sessions without payment.
- GiroPay Integration: Integrated GiroPay for push payments, requiring changes to the transaction process.
- PayPal Integration: Integrated PayPal, fully automating the process from seller onboarding to payments, cancellations, refunds, and payouts, replacing Stripe in the transaction workflow.
Project Results
The collaboration between IT House and Teachlive resulted in a feature-rich, user-friendly marketplace that effectively connects music teachers with students. The custom dashboard and cancellation policies have streamlined transaction management, while the search optimization and Jitsi integration have enhanced the user experience for online lessons. The ability to offer free sessions and the integration of multiple payment options, including GiroPay and PayPal, have made the platform more flexible and attractive to users.
