A Sharetribe-based marketplace for secondhand baby and kids' clothes and toys, featuring payment integration and modern design.
ManifestoKids was the first step of the ManifestoWomen brand, promoting a sustainable lifestyle. The marketplace, built on Sharetribe, focused on selling secondhand baby and kids' clothes and toys. The owner also operated a physical store in London, offering a convenient drop-off point for preloved items.
IT House developed ManifestoKids on the Sharetribe platform, addressing the owner’s need for a good-looking, user-friendly marketplace. The initial development phase included implementing PayPal and Stripe as payment gateways, ensuring secure and versatile payment options.
A significant design update was carried out to modernize the website's appearance and improve user experience. The main feature added was a shopping cart, allowing users to buy multiple items from one seller in a single transaction. This streamlined the purchasing process and enhanced the overall functionality of the marketplace.
Despite these improvements, after several months of usage, it became clear that a different platform would better suit the business model, which focused on the store owner managing the entire selling cycle. However, during this period, IT House successfully implemented various features that contributed to the marketplace's operation.
The Sharetribe-based ManifestoKids marketplace met several initial goals, resulting in a modern, functional platform for buying and selling secondhand kids' items. The integration of PayPal and Stripe provided secure payment options, and the design updates improved user engagement.
The addition of a shopping cart feature facilitated a smoother buying experience. Although the business model later shifted, the collaboration between IT House and ManifestoKids resulted in a robust and visually appealing marketplace that supported sustainable living.
