The idea

Cropsie connects local gardeners with buyers in their community. Users sell homegrown fruits, vegetables, plants, and other garden products directly to consumers, promoting local agriculture and reducing the carbon footprint of food transportation. The platform makes it easy for anyone, from professional growers to hobby gardeners, to find new fans and generate extra income from surplus produce.

What we built

A Sharetribe marketplace designed for the Dutch local food community:

  • Multi-vendor shopping cart Users check out separately for each seller.
  • iDeal payment integration iDeal, the dominant Dutch payment method, was integrated for secure and efficient transactions.
  • Custom checkout process Users select shipping or pickup options for the entire cart rather than per listing, simplifying the experience.
  • Custom design The unique, user-friendly interface reflects Cropsie's community-focused approach.

The result

A functional marketplace connecting local gardeners with their community. Multi-vendor checkout and the custom cart system simplified purchasing. iDeal integration improved transaction efficiency for Dutch users. The clean design made the platform approachable and easy to use.
