FreeDM: Service marketplace for cleaning and home care

The idea

Finding reliable cleaning and care service providers was fragmented and time-consuming. FreeDM was created to bridge the gap: a platform where entrepreneurs and companies connect with buyers, with service providers controlling their hours and focusing on delivering quality services. Initially oriented towards cleaning and elderly care, with plans to expand into babysitting services.

What we built

A Sharetribe Go service marketplace with features for both buyers and providers:

• Availability management Service providers set and edit combined date and time availability, with search for specific date and time slots
• Landing page An engaging landing page to attract users and explain the platform's benefits
• Referral and bonus codes Generating and applying codes to incentivize user growth
• VAT integration VAT invoicing and emailing for VAT-paying users, ensuring compliance with tax regulations
• Guest checkout Simplified purchasing for new users without requiring an account
• Subletting option Users can offer their booked services to others
• Booking limitations Limit how many users can book a facility within the same time slot, ensuring optimal service delivery

The result

A well-rounded marketplace connecting service providers with customers. Availability management and guest checkout improved usability. Referral codes helped drive growth. VAT integration ensured compliance. The subletting feature and booking limitations added flexibility for both sides. The platform handles bookings and payments, allowing service providers to focus on their work.
