Teachlive – marketplace built on Sharetribe Flex

Online and near you. Teachlive.de is a marketplace based in Germany that helps to find private music teachers immediately. Teachlive has the best music teachers for each instrument, and teachers are immediately available online or in place.

In close cooperation with the Teachlive team, IT House worked on custom feature development for several months. The development started on top of the Flex hourly template, making a lot of custom coding.

Visual identity & design update

Without significant and custom work, our design team implemented Teachlive look and also felt for the marketplace.

Dashboard

On top of typical Flex Inbox, we created the basic dashboard, where the transactions are organized by closest date and transaction status

Different cancellation policies

By default, Flex allows cancelling transactions only by admin. The custom part for Teachlive is that we allowed teachers to choose the cancellation policy they prefer – allowing free cancellation up to 48h before or never. Besides that, we enabled the possibility to cancel transactions for both sides – customer and provider.

Search optimization

As most of the classes happen online, there’s no need to have a map. Keeping the offline classes also search by location.

Jitsi integration for online meetings

Online meetings happen directly on the transaction details page; Jitsi (online meeting tool) integration allows to hold high-quality video & audio meetings.

Ability to set free sessions

To give some option to promote marketplace, teachers can set & provide a certain amount of lessons for free. The task required to make it possible to set monthly free sessions, update the number if the session is used, and customize checkout that is possible without payment.

GiroPay integration

Besides regular card payments, Stripe offers more payment options. GiroPay is Push payments and requires integration and amendments to the transaction process.

Paypal integration

As Paypal is one of the most used payment methods in Germany, Teachlive required integration. The integration of Paypal is a time-consuming process as, besides the front end tasks, it involves the need of replacing Stripe in the whole transaction process. The Paypal integration is fully automized, and it also starts with seller onboarding, payment, cancellation/refunds and payouts.
